During this trip which combines the cultural and the curative dimensions you will discover the historical sites, the unprecedented landscapes and you will enjoy the few balneological resorts of more than 2000 mineral water sources in Georgia like: Borjomi mineral water - one of the most famous in neighbor countries and the thermal spa of Tskaltubo, famous for its mineral springs, known as a source of immortality due to its special characteristics.

Day 1
Arrive - Tbilisi

Arrive in Tbilisi, meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2
Visit the capital of Georgia

Discover the capital of Georgia – Tbilisi, explore its old district with cobbled streets and traditional houses with wooden balconies, at the bank of Mtkvari river. We visit the landmarks of the city: Metekhi church and its plateau which unfolds a superb view of the old city, Narikala Fortress - the ancient symbol of the city, the district of baths (Abanotubani) known for its Sulphur hot springs.

In the afternoon we visit the National Museum and its collections of “golden treasure” from the ancient period. At the end of our day we visit Dry Bridge - place which attracts visitors with its flea market, here you can find everything with a minimum price: furniture, crockery, medals, caps of the Soviet army, antiques and paintings.

It is possible to take famous Sulphur bath, which is great place for skin problem treatments, it helps arthritic joints, digestion problem, insomnia or just for relaxation.

Day 3
Discover wine region and panorama of Alazani Valley

We depart to discover one of the most beautiful sites of Kakheti region, the East part of the country.
Short break at Bodbé monastery where St Nino stop of rest during spreading the Christianity in Georgia, this visit allows us to learn the history of the holy evangelizer, very important figure of Georgian religion.
We continue our trip to the small and charming village Sighnaghi, stroll through its cobbled streets and along the wall, admire the splendid panorama of Alazani Valley and the Caucasus. Visit Sighnaghi ethnographic museum with the exhibition of famous Georgian painter Niko Pirosmani.

We continue our trip to the local house with an old wine cellar, where the locals show us their traditional methods of winemaking, very different from European practice. Degustation of wine.

We visit Tsinandali - palace and historic winery-estate which once belonged to the 19th-century aristocratic poet Alexander Chavchavadze, the palace combines Georgian architecture with Italian inspiration.

We arrive in the capital and historical city of Kakheti – Telavi.

Return in Tbilisi.

Day 4
The region with its history since the 1st millennium BC till XX C

Departure for Mtskheta – an old capital of Iberia kingdom, visit Jvari (Cross) monastery perched on a hill and overlooking the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral ("Life-giving column") dated back to the 11tcentury. Shopping of Georgian national handmade souvenirs. Possibility of buying national handcrafted souvenirs. 

Departure for Gori – soviet city and the central part of Georgia, the hometown of J. Stalin, where you can visit the house-museum of Stalin and its armored car.

Then we discover an abandoned rock-hewn town Uplistsikhe (about 1h30), dug into the rocks dates back to the 2nd century, is overlooking to the river Mtkvari.

Day 5
Discover the region of fortresses and balneological resort

Departure for Vardzia Cave Town, located in Javakheti region at the left bank of Mtkvari river. The monastery complex caved in a rock, is XII-XIII CC Georgian picturesque monument, high mountains and rock cliffs, special kind of architecture. We visit this site which still requires a good physical shape - the multi-storey caves are connected by narrow tunnels, carved into the rocks.

Continue to Borjomi, remarkable with its natural mineral springs, visit Borjomi park, take taste to Borjomi sour water.

Departure to the West part of Georgia – Kutaisi, the second city of the country.

Day 6
The balneological resort

Plan A: Departure to Bakuriani - ski resort located at an altitude of 1700 m, walking.

Return to Borjomi by the little train "Kukushka". Stop at Tsaghveri resort, visit Timotesubani monastery with the 11th century frescoes.

Plan B: Possibility of hiking to the outdoor sulfur pool (1-2 h), possibility of taking sulfur baths.Departure to the West part of Georgia – Kutaisi, the second city of the country.

Day 7
UNESCO Sights and Thermal Resort

Visit Kutaisi and its UNESCO sites: Gelati monastery, which is the illustration of the Georgian culture since X C until the XVIII C, the masterpiece of the Golden Age of medieval Georgia, the center of science and education during that period. After we visit recently renovated Bagrati cathedral – the symbol of the city, dated back to the X century. Visit very colorful local market.

Departure to Tskaltubo – thermal resort and soviet city. Tskaltubo is famous for its mineral radon-carbonate sources, whose natural temperature of 33–35°C (91–95°F) allows water to be used without prior heating. The resort focuses on balneotherapy of circulatory, nervous, musculoskeletal, gynecological and skin diseases, and since the 1970s, its repertoire includes "speleotherapy", the cool, dust-free environment of local caves gives the benefit for the treatment of lung diseases.

Enjoy with relaxation at « Sanatoriumi » for 5 days, it is possible to take different kinds of health treatments or just relax with spa procedures.

Day 8
Free day. Option: Mountain region Ratcha with its special wine

Free day in the Sanatorium for different kind of health treatments and relaxation.

Possibility to explore Ratcha region (optional excursion):

Departure for Ambrolauri, Ratcha region via Nakerala Pass, on the way enjoy with the views over Tkibuli reservoir and Shaori Lake. Ratcha is the mountain region which is known for its specific wine due to its terrain. 

Visit Barakoni Church – XVIII C. Visit the 10th century church, Nikortminta, a pearl of Georgian architecture with its lapid carvings. Visit an industrial wine cellar which produces famous and very pleasant semi-sweet red wine Khvanchkara, a famous local appellation. Wine degustation.

Free day. Option: Explore Okatse Canyon and Kinchkha Waterfall

Free day in the Sanatorium for different kind of health treatments and relaxation.

Possibility to explore surroundings of Tskaltubo (optional excursion):

Departure for Okatse Canyon. Arriving on site, we start our walk, including 800m long Okatse Bridge overlooking the bottom of the Canyon which is 50m. Then we have a short hike to Kinchkha waterfall.

Free Day. Option: Visit Prometheus Cave

Possibility to explore Karst Cave (optional excursion):

Visit Prometheus cave, the karst cave full of stalactites and stalagmites decorated with colored laser lights.

Free day. Option: Visit Martvili Canyon and Archeological sight

Free day in the Sanatorium for different kinds of health treatments and relaxation.

Possibility to explore Samegrelo Region (optional excursion):

Departure to Martvili, Samegrelo region. Visit Martvili canyon which used to be a bath place of Dadiani family, enjoy the scenery, its waterfalls and take a boat trip in river with deep green color. Visit Martvili monastery (VII-X CC) impressive with its frescos.  

Visit an archaeological site - Nokalakevi (III BC), which shows the ancient culture of kholkhid.
